Robert Hofland is a graphic artist in Boulder Colorado, working in print media, with an emphasis on strong graphic images. To maintain the collector’s art investment all prints are pencil signed and numbered limited-editions, in small quantites, usually 45 or 95 each.

Besides producing prints of subjects that interest him, Robert's print making is concentrated in two
areas: seeing familiar subjects in a new way, and reminding us of great quotations.

Seeing Familiar Subjects In A New Way - Robert is creating prints of familar subjects that demonstrate and explore how our visual systems merge shapes and colors to make a recognizable image. Some of his classical subjects are composed of geometric shapes that when seen from a distance merge to form the subject. In other cases relatively large blocks of color or other devices combine to make the image.

Reminding Us of Great Quotations - Motivational and inspiring quotations from the past have important things to say, and can offer guidance in our current lives. Robert’s contemporary and creative depiction of these truths are not only decorative, but a continual reminder of their wisdom. In addition to his limited-edition prints, to make these quotations more widely available Robert has produced each as an inexpensive poster.

Although he has produced serigraphs and wood block prints in the past, Robert is now concentrating on the creation of fine art digital prints that are all original compositions, not painting reproductions.

Robert has a permanent invitation to exhibit his prints at the International Biennial of Contemporary Art (Bienalle Internazionale Dell'Arte Contemporanea) in Florence, Italy.
